About Mint Mobile

Mint Mobile is a prepaid, online-first wireless brand that sells service directly to consumers and runs on T-Mobile's network. At the time of Reynolds' 2019 investment it offered plans from $15 a month with no contracts and a bring-your-own-phone program.Source [1]Source [4]

It was run by Ka'ena Corporation, which also owned the internationally focused prepaid brand Ultra Mobile and the wholesale provider Plum. Before the acquisition Ka'ena was a wholesale partner of T-Mobile.Source [2]Source [4]

Actor Ryan Reynolds bought an ownership stake in November 2019 and took on communications and marketing work, becoming the face of the brand's advertising.Source [1]Source [3]

T-Mobile completed the purchase of Ka'ena on May 1, 2024, for a variable price of up to $1.35 billion in cash and stock. T-Mobile said the brands would keep operating autonomously, that founders David Glickman and Rizwan Kassim would continue to lead them, and that Reynolds would continue in his creative role.Source [2]Source [4]
