About Podscan

Podscan ingests, transcribes and analyzes podcast episodes at scale, more than 70,000 a day according to Audiohook, and offers alerts when brands, people or keywords are mentioned, along with transcripts, brand-suitability analysis, sentiment and an API.Source [4]Source [6]Source [7]

Kahl has said the product began as a way to reach podcast creators for Podline, a podcast voicemail tool, and that it relied on OpenAI's Whisper for transcription and on language models for data processing. Its homepage lists customer segments including brands, agencies, investment teams and podcasters.Source [1]Source [7]

Before the sale, Podscan sold tiered subscriptions; its site listed plans from $100 a month up to enterprise contracts starting at $5,000 a month as of October 2, 2026. After the acquisition, Audiohook said creators, networks, publishers and advertisers could use most of the data at no cost.Source [3]Source [4]

Podscan now operates as part of Audiohook, an Ogden, Utah based audio advertising company led by CEO Jordan Bentley, with Kahl overseeing its technical transition and further development.Source [4]Source [6]

What happened

Arvid Kahl launched Podscan in 2024; it grew out of a marketing tool he built to find podcasters for his earlier product Podline. After raising a six-figure amount from the Calm Company Fund in 2024, he ran it as a solo founder until Audiohook Corporation acquired Podscan Inc. in a deal that closed on August 24, 2026 and was announced on September 30, 2026. Terms were not disclosed; Audiohook made most of Podscan's data free and Kahl joined Audiohook to lead the platform.Source [1]Source [5]Source [4]Source [6]
