About The Hustle
The Hustle is a daily email newsletter covering business and technology news in a conversational tone. It began as the marketing list for Hustle Con, an annual conference for startup founders, and became the company's main product.Source [1]Source [4]
Before the sale the company made money from conference tickets ($300 each) and newsletter advertising sold at $25 to $100 CPM, later adding Trends, a paid research subscription. In 2017 it reported net revenue of $2.21 million, mostly from Hustle Con, and had 18 employees.Source [1]Source [3]
HubSpot bought the company in February 2021, when the newsletter had 1.5 million subscribers. HubSpot said the deal would help it serve scaling companies with business and tech trend content, and it now runs The Hustle, The Hustle Daily Show and My First Million under its media arm.Source [3]Source [2]Source [5]
