About Testimonial

Testimonial (testimonial.to) lets businesses request, collect and manage video and text testimonials from customers and embed them on their websites, most notably through a "Wall of Love" widget that works on no-code platforms. Its site now also lists NPS surveys, case study interviews, brand monitoring and an email assistant, and says it is trusted by 50,000+ businesses (company claim).Source [5]Source [4]

Damon Chen built it in about three weeks in late 2020, reusing much of the code from his earlier IndieLog project, and launched it on Product Hunt in the final week of 2020 with a $199 lifetime deal. He sold 30 deals in the first two weeks and then moved to subscription pricing.Source [3]Source [2]Source [4]

Growth came mainly from product-led loops: public Walls of Love carry Testimonial branding that brings in new sign-ups, and paid plans remove it. Chen also runs an affiliate program paying 30% recurring commission, which he said contributes about 10 to 15% of revenue, and in 2022 he paid $35,000 for the testimonial.io domain after customers repeatedly mistyped the name.Source [3]Source [4]

The company is bootstrapped. Chen ran it alone until about $400K ARR, when he hired his first employee for marketing. All revenue figures are self-reported by the founder; no public dashboard or verified revenue source was found.Source [3]
