About ShipFast

ShipFast is a one-time-purchase Next.js boilerplate that bundles login, Stripe payments, transactional email, database, SEO tags and landing-page components so buyers can launch a SaaS or AI tool faster.Source [3]

Lou said he built it by gathering code from the products he shipped over two years, and launched it on Product Hunt shortly before a trip to Hong Kong.Source [2]

In October 2024 an indie hacker publicly posted a server-side validation flaw in ShipFast and later a Mailgun webhook issue, sparking a debate covered by Indie Hackers; Lou apologized on 24 October 2024 and said security should not be an afterthought.Source [4]Source [5]

TrustMRR, owned by Lou, shows $1,271,497 in all-time Stripe revenue, $117,714 over the last 12 months and $1,494 over the last 30 days as of 2 October 2026. The homepage says 8,429 makers use it.Source [1]Source [6]Source [3]

What happened

Marc Lou packaged the code he reused across his products into ShipFast, a paid Next.js boilerplate, in 2023 and launched it on Product Hunt. It became his largest earner, with $1.27 million in all-time Stripe revenue shown on TrustMRR, a platform he owns. In October 2024 publicly reported security bugs led to an apology from Lou, and its revenue has since fallen to about $1,500 in the 30 days to 2 October 2026.Source [2]Source [1]Source [6]Source [4]Source [5]
